Instrumental or Choral Ensemble ________________________________________________________________________________ Composition majors are required to take courses in which they perform as members of a coached and/or conducted musical ensemble. For BM students the requirement is any four semesters, for MM students the requirement is any two semesters. Composition students may audition for the conservatory's choral or instrumental ensembles and participation in these ensembles would fulfil the performance requirement. In addition, the Composition Department offers one or two coached ensemble experiences each semester. The exact nature of these ensembles will depend upon student ability and interest. Students who wish to join a non-conservatory ensemble which has a demonstrable weekly coached rehearsal may use such an experience to fulfil the performance requirement. ________________________________________________________________________________
