Course Objectives
This course provides the means and the vocabulary to understand and discuss non-Western musics of both cultivated and vernacular traditions. Focusing primarily on the various musics of the Asian continent with specific attention paid to performance practices, methods of pedagogy, and the theoretical underpinnings of the music.
